~ Version 1.1 updated !! ~

PlayBacker for iPad / PlayBacker for iPhone

"iCloud Drive" supported version 1.1 were released ! Main features see below.

■ iCloud Drive Supporting.

PlayBacker for iOS series became supporting Apple's standard file synchronize system "iCloud Drive". Please check our special page from banner link below for details of application's behavior.

■ Volume Fader was updated.

Operation enabled area of fader knob was expanded. Fader knob follows user's drag operation more widely.

With tuning of error between touch point and fader knob, sudden change of volume was improved when user starts dragging fader.

Level indicator was added on upper side of fader. User can know current level in operation. ( indication begins from -1.0db below )

■ Measures of "buffer underrun error".

In previous versions, there was an issue of sound break when device went to sleep or application went to background ( mainly on iPhone versions ).
With measures of this issue, it reduced in this version.

■ Other some fixed.

The issue of cue lists, they could not hold tracks which sample rate over 48kHz, was solved.
The issue of track title of some tracks loaded from iTunes library was solved.
Some interface parts was updated.
Accepting audio files from "AirDrop", "Mail - attached file", etc has been enabled.

"PlayBacker for iPad" & "PlayBacker for iPhone"

PlayBacker for iOS series were updated with many improved features ! Updated features details are below.

■ Decks were changed to keep holding there cue list.

In previous versions, there was a problem of cue list. When device reboots or suspended application in background, the decks couldn't keep hold there cue lists. But from this version such a problem was solved. Application holds latest cue lists and will reconstructs cues when it was re-launched.

#) When application is relaunched ( launch screen will be shown ), current track will set to first track of cue list.

#) If "App Storage" or "Music Library" has changed before application launched, tracks of lost files will removed from cue list.

#) The setting of "Preferences" of "for iPad" also will be saved.

■ Became higher visibility of "Now Playing" indication.

"Play/Pause Button"was modified to easily recognized the state of playing. And a back light of "Track Title" will lit in playing.
In addition, "Volume Fader" of decks will be gray out when "Cross Fader" muted the deck.

Now users can grasp output and playing state of decks more clearly.

■ User can select "Control Buttons Trigger Timing"( iPad version only )

In this version, user can select the trigger timing of control buttons !!
The setting is available in "CONTROL BUTTONS TRIGGER MODE" in "Preferences" window.

- "OFF": Touch "UP" Mode (factory preset)

The functions will be triggered when user released finger after tapping buttons.
In this mode, user can "Tap Cancel" by releasing finger out of button's area. It will prevent accidents caused by incorrect operations.

- "ON": Touch "DOWN" Mode

The function will be triggered immediately when user touched buttons.
User can get more quick response and control feel in this mode.

This feature change these below buttons.

Deck - Control Area

Play/Pause Button
Go Previous Track Button
Go Next Track Button

Cross Fader Area

Auto Cross Button ( to DECK A)
Auto Cross Button ( to DECK B)

■ Other some bug fixed.

~ Version 1.2.2 update was relesed !! ~

"PlayBacker" & "PlayBacker lite"

Version 1.2.2 - supports latest Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan - was released in Mac App Store !!
And in this version, below improvements has been subjected.

Added / Changed Feature

TrackList ; The function of add new tracks has become more faster.
TrackList ; supports full screen mode.
Track Editor ; The timing for determine cueing has changed to "Mouse-Up".

Became same ways of "Deck"'s cueing.

Track Editor ; Dragging time indicator was added.

When user dragged playback wiper, new time display of dragging point will be shown near the playback wiper.

Player ; Retuning of audio rendering process.
The behavior of deck when external audio interface was down. ( PlayBacker )

When external audio interface which is selected in preferences window was down, deck will pauses playback and wait until user re-select active audio device.

Bug Fixed

On OS X 10.11) - the issue that “Track Editor” could not display waveform at the time the view opened, has been resolved.
On OS X 10.11) - the issue that “Fader Unit” became not respond to mouse events after return from “Full Screen Mode”, has been resolved.
On OS X 10.11) - the issue that upper part of “Player” window was hidden when user opened “Fader Unit” in split view, has been resolved.

In previous version) - the issue of "Deck"

Sometimes a deck had generated gap noise to another one when it going to load long duration track. This had caused to system busy made by track loading process. And this problem was solved.

In previous version) - the issue of "Output Setting" in preferences window

User couldn't "Cancel" assigning output to decks, in case user was selecting one of popup button item which is different with current deck setting. This problem was solved.

Other small bugs has fixed.

In this version, "PlayBacker" and "PlayBacker lite" became more robust. I recommend update for all users, especially if your OS is 10.11 El Capitan !!

# From this version, version number of "PlayBacker lite" becomes same number to "PlayBacker" which have same build.

2015/09/30

~ Support status of OS X 10.11 El Capitan ~

I make report of the status of supporting OS X 10.11 El Capitan. On OS X 10.11 the basic functions ( create new track list / add new tracks / load to player / playback controls ) of "PlayBacker for Mac" series works without big problems.

But I recognize the issue below.

■ Track Editor can't show waveform at first time of window open.
When you open "Track Editor" which positioned lower side of "TrackList Window", you will not see waveform of selected track. To see waveform, you should re-select another track once again. After then "Track Editor" will become to show track's waveform.

This issue will be resolved in the next update versions presently developing. Please wait a while.

By the way, if you play "PlayBacker" with external audio interfaces, the driver of audio interface needs to be validated with OS X 10.11. Please check your device's maker's site.

added 10/05 - a issue recognized -
■ There is a case "Fader Unit" becomes do not accept mouse events after return from "Full Screen Mode".

In OS X 10.11, this situation occur by below operations.
# Return from "Full Screen Mode" in the closed state of the "Fader Unit". #

You can workaround this issue by reverse operations. Open "Fader Unit" in "Full Screen Mode", then return to standard screen.
Until this issue will be resolved, please be aware of the playback operations.

"PlayBacker for iPad" & "PlayBacker for iPhone"

Version 1.0.1 which supports iOS 9, were released in App Store today!
These versions displays correct deck layout on iOS 9. And the indication of track informations are retuned to be more cleary.

~ First anniversary from "PlayBacker" release ! ~

Dear All Users.

Thank you very much for always using my products. I am happy to announce that "PlayBacker for Mac" series became one year old !

I have developing these applications for "can withstand use in stage" and "have toughness for safety operation". Needless to say, I am still on the way to.
But thanks to many advice of many users, "PlayBacker" is becoming good application little by little, I feel.

I wish your favor on my products also in the future.
And I always be waiting for your suggestions, comments and advices !

~ Support status of iOS 9 ~

I report the status of supporting iOS 9. On iOS 9 the basic functions of "PlayBacker for iOS" series works well. But around view parts of screen, I recognize some issues below.

■ for iPad
# Wrong deck size is shown when booting application.
workaround : Please change device orientation, application will display correct deck size.

■ for iPhone
# Wrong control buttons (Play/Pause, Prev, Next) size is shown when booting application.
workaround : Please re-activate application ( once go to home screen and return to PlayBacker. etc ), screen will show correct buttons size.

I'm developing update versions now for supporting iOS 9. Please wait a while and if you have any other questions, bug reports or comments, please contact me by address below.

~ PlayBacker ver 1.2.1 / PlayBacker lite ver 1.1.2 released ~

From this versions the way to set cue point of deck was changed to "Mouse-Up" for the purpose of convenience and safety for operation. Please see below for each behavior.

Mouse-Down waveform

Cue point is not changed. Playback wiper follows mouse pointer.

Mouse-Drag

Cue point is not changed. Playback wiper follows mouse pointer if pointer is in waveform area.

Mouse-Up

If mouse pointer is in waveform area, cue point will set at pointer place.

If mouse pointer is out waveform area vertically, cueing will canceled and current cue point will not be changed.

In addition, CPU usage was improved lower. Time counters were added to "Track Editor".
I recommend that all users to update and please try this versions.

~ TIPS " Ways to track's deck assigning " ~

Thank you for using "PlayBacker" series. This time I want to explain the ways to assign "Target Deck" of tracks.

"PlayBacker" series sets track's target deck parameter to "Deck A" when users add tracks to track list. To editing this parameter, several following ways are available.

■ Editing each "Target" column of track list one by one.

1) Select from popup

When users click "Target" column, available decks will be listed in popup. Please select one of them you want to load track.

2) Input direct to "Target" column

Each column will be editable when users select a track and key down [ tab ]. In "Target" column users can input characters of below.
a b c d / A B C D / 1 2 3 4 ( a b / A B / 1 2 : lite ) and [ delete ]. (1→A, 2→B, 3→C, 4→D)
If you [ delete ] target deck, track will not be loaded to any decks.

■ Editing several tracks in "Info Editor" window

"Info Editor" of TrackList can set same value for tracks parameter. On the lower part of this window, there is a popup selector of "Target Deck". Users can set same target deck to several selected tracks.

To open "Info Editor" window, double click tracks when their are selected. Or go to [ Track List ] menu ~ Info Editor menu item.

~ PlayBacker ver1.2 / PlayBacker lite ver1.1.1 were released !! ~

■ PlayBacker version 1.2 was released in Mac App Store.

New Feature ;
Editing Mac-key Assigning has been supported.
In version 1.2, users can assign any single mac-key to PlayBacker deck controls. Which function was added in updated preference panel.

Bug Fixed ;
An issue of "waveform" in deck.
In previous versions, In case that track's sample rate was not 44.1khz, waveform didn't show correct length. This problem was solved in ver1.2.

Small bugs arround interface was fixed.

Changed functions ;
"Track Editor" menu item was added in "Track List" menu.
Keyboard shortcut of "Export Track List…" menu item has removed.
~ from version 1.2, keyboard shortcut (⌘E) open "Track Editor" in trackList document window.

■ PlayBacker lite version 1.1.1 was released in Mac App Store.

This version is maintenance release. The above-mentioned bugs were fixed.

Changed functions ;
"Track Editor" menu item was added in "Track List" menu.
Keyboard shortcut of "Export Track List…" menu item has removed.
~ from version 1.1.1, keyboard shortcut (⌘E) open "Track Editor" in trackList document window.
